a reason to hold on

Encouragement. Persistence. Hope.  Resilience. These are all powerful words.  In the right context they can convey peace, strength, and patience.  The writer of Proverbs said as much when the writer said "A word spoken in due season, how good it is!" (Prov 15:23). One of the times Hebrews mentions hope, it's based on a reason.  
Heb. 10:23 Let us hold on to the confession of our hope without wavering, since He who promised is faithful.
God's faithfulness is the best reason in the world to hold on to hope.  Praise God!
