The moment is a reality. The prediction is certain. The plan is clear. Jesus is coming back. At the ascension of Christ from the Mount of Olives, the angel declared to the disciples. "Men of Galilee, why do you stand looking into heaven. This same Jesus that was taken from you will so come in like manner" (Acts 1:11). The New Testament mentions the return of Christ multiple times from Matthew to Revelation. Jesus taught about His return (Matthew 24). There is a simple phrase that is translated in our English Bible. While the author, (Paul or John) is making a different point, we get a hint at the reality of Christ's coming was so integrated into their thinking!
At. His. Coming. 1Cor. 15:23 But each in his own order: Christ, the firstfruits; afterward, at his coming, those who belong to Christ. 1Th. 2:19 For who is our hope or joy or crown of boasting in the presence of our Lord Jesus at his coming? Is it not you? 1John 2:28 So now, little children, remain in him so that when he appears we may have confidence and not be ashamed before him at his coming. May we look up with hope and thanksgiving AT HIS COMING!
