Have you ever wondered why there are so many genealogies in the Bible? There are 50 separate lists from Genesis to Hebrews. It's not always riveting reading. Why then do they take up so much literary real estate in God's word? It's because God worked among them. It was divine intervention and activity. In today's culture, you know something clever or interesting is taking place because people intuitively take out their phones and video or snap a picture. They want to record it. It was the same thing in the Bible. Genealogies convey historical truth and fact. God worked among them. God is working, and He will keep on working. Praise God!
