Billy Graham has this verse in his devotional from Psalm 14:1. The great missionary Jim Elliot is known for his cogent phrase "He is no fool, who gives what he cannot keep, to gain what he cannot lose". It's reminiscent of Jesus's parable about the man who was looking for pearls and sold everything he had to buy the one pearl of great price. (Matthew 13:45). In our day, truth is often determined by how one judges in his/her own heart. The Bible also speaks to that. Proverbs 28:26 says: "He that trusts his own heart is a fool" Thankfully the Bible tells us the truth about fools. Even on April fool's day.
