Words are powerful. Words can be profound. Sometimes words are completely inadequate. That's what Peter was referring to when he wrote to the Christians scattered throughout the Roman empire. He was affirming their ability to believe something they hadn't seen. The "joy unspeakable" was the phrase mentioned in 1 Peter 1:8. He referred to it as the type of joy that comes with believing in Christ. With no evidence? With no results? With firm faith and believing, we can have unspeakable joy! Praise God!
