proclaim liberty

The prophet saw into the future.  He lived close to 700 years before the long awaited Messiah.  The ripple effects of this news would change the world and all eternity.  All people from every background, economic level, and heritage would be able to connect with God and His Spirit on a personal level.  The Messiah was promised and Isaiah saw it through the eyes of the Spirit.

Is. 61:1        The Spirit of the Lord GOD is on me,
    because the LORD has anointed me
    to bring good news to the poor.
    He has sent me to heal the brokenhearted,
    to proclaim liberty to the captives
    and freedom to the prisoners;

​Christ has come to set everyone free.  The Good News of His death, burial, resurrection and promise of His soon return is the heritage of all who believe.  Praise God!
