putting bethlehem on the map

There is a well known verse found in a minor prophet.  The minor prophet is only "minor" because his book is short.  This prophecy is small but highly significant.  The prophet is Micah.  The pre-exilic book is focused on the sins of the northern kingdom of Israel prior to their inevitable exile in 722.  Like all the prophets, however there is a temporal real time message and a focused prophetic message about the coming Messiah.  The backwoods, no good reputation city of Bethlehem that had stood in the backdrop of splendorous Jerusalem, was about to be brought to the forefront of Western thinking for millennia into the future.  Here is the verse
   
​    Bethlehem Ephrathah,
    you are small among the clans of Judah;
    one will come from you
    to be ruler over Israel for me.
    His origin is from antiquity,
    from ancient times.

And He was born in Bethlehem, fulfilling the prophecy of Micah 700 years previous. Praise God!
