New Year and new opportunities abound. Many pastors and motivational leaders say 
"the past doesn't matter".  It is true in the sense that it cannot be changed.  Christians understand that "new" is also "eternal".  Paul gave this grand declaration to the Corinthians:

2Cor. 5:17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has passed away, and see, the new has come!

Praise God for new life and THAT more abundantly (John 20:30-31).
