The healer

Jesus was known on the earth as a healer.  He is a great Physician.  The Bible clearly records that His miracles were witnessed by many.  He even did the impossible by raising the dead.  One striking instance is when He had concluded an evening of miracle working.

Matt. 8:16 That evening they brought to him many who were oppressed by demons, and he cast out the spirits with a word and healed all who were sick. 17 This was to fulfill what was spoken by the prophet Isaiah: “He took our illnesses and bore our diseases.”

That Isaiah passage was written 700 years before Jesus was born.  Here it is:
s. 53:4    Surely he has borne our griefs
and carried our sorrows;
yet we esteemed him stricken,
smitten by God, and afflicted.
5 But he was pierced for our transgressions;
he was crushed for our iniquities;
upon him was the chastisement that brought us peace,
and with his wounds we are healed.

Isaiah prophesied clearly about it.  Jesus came healing! Today we can ask Him to heal with the expectation that He will.  Praise God!
