Its tradition, I suppose. The Old Testament. The Bible (the Old and New Testaments) have been with us in its final form since 367 AD. The Old Testament was codified before the time of Jesus some 2000 years ago. I'm concerned that the "Old" label to 2/3 of the Bible makes some people disinterested in it. What? In our culture is marketed as "OLD" in a positive way? We use terms like "senior", "vintage", "experienced", and "classic" to convey the grand experience, knowledge, and power of people and things. I guess its just tradition, but maybe we could start calling the "Old Testament" the "First Testament" or the "Classic Testament" :-) Some might even dare to call it the Vintage Testament. Either way, All the Bible is God's word including the "Senior Testament" :-) Praise God! var refTagger = { settings: { bibleVersion: "ESV" } }; (function(d, t) { var g = d.createElement(t), s = d.getElementsByTagName(t)[0]; g.src = '//api.reftagger.com/v2/RefTagger.js'; s.parentNode.insertBefore(g, s); }(document, 'script'));
