The pastoral prayer

Jesus cared about His disciples.  I'm so encouraged when I read the Gospels about the time and attention Jesus gave those who chose to follow Him.  There is a moment, toward then end of John when He records that caring prayer that Jesus prays for His disciples. (Read all of it here: John 17:1-26). As believers today, we get great assurance that He also prays this way for us! 

Right before He prayed.  He made a powerful concluding statement to them.  In it, we get Jesus's clear guidance on how to view the world.  It's good for today and every day.

John 16:33 I have told you these things so that in me you may have peace. You will have suffering in this world. Be courageous! I have conquered the world.
