The promise came true

Peter would quote from Joel 2 when He preached his great sermon on the Day of Pentecost.  The Holy Spirit came!  Jesus promised that it would.  Both the prophecy of the Old Testament in Joel and the promise of Jesus to the disciples were realized on that day! 

When Jesus makes a promise, it always comes true.  Praise God!
