It’s in the book of James. It’s in Proverbs. It’s in 1 Peter. It’s the same phrase with a powerful message. God resists the proud but gives grace unto the humble So we can say that He doesn’t just resist, He also gives. I’m in favor of His grace, I need His grace. The promise is sure. James 4:6 starts the statement by saying “But he gives more grace...” Peter appeals to humility in Christian relationships before saying it. “All of you should clothe yourself with humility” The writer of proverbs says it simply. "To the scorner, He is scornful. But to the humble He gives favor." The message is clear. Humility works!
