who owns the kingdom?

When I was a kid my dad was a deacon and very good friends with the pastor of our small church.  Our church was so small that I was the only child.  I remember like it was yesterday.  I was about 7 years old in the back seat of a big buick, the pastor was driving and my dad was sitting in the front seat.  I guess we had just gone to lunch and were pulling into the parking lot of the church (it was a grass yard) and I looked up at the church steeple and asked. "Who owns the church?"  I was surprised by their surprise because they didn't respond quickly.  My dad let the pastor answer it and his answer was "God does". When Jesus finished His instruction to the disciples, he clearly chose to identify whose kingdom we are building.  "Yours is the Kingdom and the power and the glory forever". Jesus invites us to participates in the building of His church and His Kingdom!  Praise God!
